Look out for your neighbors!

Kudos to the community members in Park Slope (and surrounding neighborhoods) who have organized “Safe Slope” in light of all the recent sexual assaults against women in the area.

Information for those seeking escorts home from the subways please read below:

  • RightRides: www.rightrides.org
Offers women and LGBTQ individuals a free, safe, late night ride home
on Friday and Saturday nights from 11:59 PM - 3 AM, (early Saturday or Sunday morning) in 45 NYC neighborhoods across four NYC boroughs. To call for a ride, the dispatch number is (888) 215-SAFE (7233).
  • Safe Walk Initiative
Safe Slope’s Safe Walk initiative is a volunteer-based program providing free walks home to female- and LGBTQ-identified community members. To arrange a Safe Walk, users can call us
at (347) 709-8852, and a pair of Safe Slope volunteers will meet them and walk them home safely. We will be piloting the Safe Walk program in South Slope/Greenwood
Heights/Windsor Terrace on Thursday through Saturday nights, between 8:00pm and 3:00am.

Safe Walk volunteers can provide “pick-ups” at local establishments and subway stops and will provide “drop-offs” anywhere in our catchment area (between 9th and 30th Streets and between 2nd and 8th Avenues in Brooklyn). Please contact us safeslope@gmail.com if you are interested in becoming a Safe Walk volunteer.
