Vulture Culture
Hi,
I have a world premiere for my short documentary, Vulture Culture, about the Brooklyn Free Store and In Our Hearts, at the DOC NYC festival on Nov. 6th. I thought this might be of interest to the Brooklyn Skillshare community as it is concerned with the sharing culture developing in Brooklyn. In this case it’s about sharing stuff that you have (at no charge) and building community around this.
Would it be possible to mention this on Facebook or Twitter? If so, this is the link to film’s website: http://vultureculturefilm.com.
Thanks!
Eric

Here’s a short description of the film:
Can garbage be used to foster community? That’s the question anarchist collective In Our Hearts asks as they create a Free Store and host free community dinners with food rescued from dumpsters, working to create connections between long-time residents, hipsters, and radicals in Brooklyn’s legendary Bed-Stuy neighborhood. Their efforts are threatened by the elements and by unknown opponents who try to sabotage their work.
The film will be showing as part of a shorts program called “NYC Uncovered”, playing at 11:15am on Nov. 6th at NYU’s Kimmel Ctr. 4th Floor (Eisner Auditorium). Here’s a link to the Facebook invite for the event. Tickets are on sale now!
