Minutes from 2nd meet-up

6/18/09 @ Spitzer’s

• Meg Wachter - Excellent news! We have a venue! Gowanus Studio Space is going to be the site of the Skillshare. They are an amazing space complete with a fully-functioning wood-working shop and silk-screening room! Check them out: http://www.gowanusstudio.org

• We are now potentially moving the Skillshare to October to allow more planning/promoting time and need to pick a date. Will now be a 1 full day event either on Saturday October 10th, 17th, or 24th. Stay tuned!

• Cristin Burton (designer) has come up multiple awesome potential logos for the Skillshare. Going to narrow them down and the present it to the group to vote on.

• Caroline Nagy (skillshare & volunteer wrangler) If she contacted you recently, please take a minute to get back to her with a simple outline regarding what you’d like to teach! Being a skill-sharer is more than just showing up on the day of the event.

• Miss Sarah Kennedy is spear-heading creating and updating a twitter account for the Skillshare. We have registered:
* bkskillshare
* bkskills
* brooklynskills
Let me which one you like best!

• Yana Walton is joining the PR team since she has experience writing sponsorship packets and press releases!

• Jessica Goldfond (PR/Food) - now that we have a venue secured and we pick a date, we are one step closer to start promoting!

• Working on mission statement & business plan

• Going to present the Skillshare to FEAST (Funding Emerging Art with Sustainable Tactics) on August 8th to potentially get funding.

• Working on planning out first benefit show (potentially at the Opera House in Bushwick) for the end of August! If you have a band, are a DJ, or would like to perform please contact Meg (megwachter@gmail.com).

Over & out!
