BKSS mtg: minutes 7/28/09
Small meeting @ Think! Coffee of the immeditate cooperative:
- Scheduled classes! Teachers, stay tuned…
- Started hashing out our budget, thanks to the guidance of the fine folks from the Boston Skillshare and our treasurer, Aaron Dias.
- Gearing up for our presentation for FEAST! It’s on Saturday, August 8th @ Church of the Messiah (129 Russell Street, Brooklyn 6-9p; $10-20, no one turned away). Come for good food and supporting the community. Jessica Goldfond will be presenting our mission on behalf of the Skillshare. Come out and vote for us!
- We are now on the interwebs at www.brooklynskillshare.org!
- Currently working on filing as a non-profit.
- Finalizing the benefit show (FRIDAY, AUGUST 8TH @ GLASSLANDS!). The über-talented Cristin Burton is working away on the poster design for the show. Can’t wait!
- Next meeting will hopefully be at Gowanus Studio Space so all involved can check out our home digs!
- Potentially co-opting t-shirts for the Skillshare with lovely Brooklyn-based, eco-conscious, sister-duo, Lovemore! Would you buy an sustainably screen-printed organic tee? I think so…
- Working on sposnors/donations (beer! coffee! food!)
- PR sourceress, Yana Walton, has compiled a database for promoting the Skillshare and the benefit show. Be on the lookout for blitzkrieg of ballyhoo!
Lots accomplished. More to get done. Amazing to see this all coming together!
