Teacher Bio: Elise Pelletier (Screenprinting & DIY Basics)

Name: Elise Pelletier
Class Title: Screenprinting & DIY Basics (11:45am-1:15pm)
Summary of Class: During this class, participants will learn the basics of screenprinting through three different methods. Everyone will then get the opportunity to test their newly learned skills and print a small, two-colored poster made from screens provided by the teacher. Participants will also receive a list of techniques, online/store resources, and supplies needed for all your DIY ambitions.
Your experience (in area of skill you are sharing): Elise has over five years experience screenprinting. She got her start apprenticing with Coronado Studios in Austin, Texas where she spent long hours assisting Master printers create beautiful prints. She then decided to start her own screenprinting business, Foreshadow Press where she makes brides happy with pretty invitations. She also teaches high school students screenprinting so that they can have unique outfits to show off to their friends.
Why are you teaching at the Skillshare?: I want people to realize that screenprinting is an amazing medium to create inventive projects. It doesn’t require a lot of expensive materials that some art stores will lead you to believe. Also, I love to teach. It is the profession I love and everyone should have the opportunity to learn something new on a daily basis.
