My 1st batch of ice cream (finally)! I give you: Ginger Mint
Used this recipe for ginger ice cream (only made Philly style) + recommended teaspoon of vanilla and added fresh mint from my garden. I do not own an ice cream maker, so used my old school countertop mixer instead.
Overall thoughts:
- super rewarding & fun to make, BUT I am incredibly impatient (freeze faster!)
- could have used more mint
- could have used more ginger
- made 2 pints (1 to trade at next meet-up!)
My garden is producing more interesting ice cream flavor possibilities (hot pepper? curry? hot pepper curry???) and am stoked to keep experimenting!
